Cabbage Soup Diet
About
Before we go any further you first need to understand that this is NOT a long term diet, in fact the cabbage soup diet is only designed to last for 7 days. If you decide to give this diet a go then you will definetly see results in the first week, but do no be tempted to continue the diet and expect the same results or indeed feel or look healthy by maintaining this diet as a long term option
If you have or have had any kind of eating disorders or are worried about doing a diet that could encourage eating disorders then the cabbage soup diet is probably not for you. If however, you are trying to lose weight and want to have a quick start and see results then you can give this a try and treat it more as a detox rather than a diet.
To put any myths to one side the cabbage soup diet is not solely the consumption of cabbage soup for 7 days. Each day you given certain foods which you can eat in additon to as much of the cabbage soup as you can stomach.
Be warned though that this diet is not easy, it is a low fat, low calorie, high fibre diet designed to give you rapid weightloss if you can stick to the strict rules you have to follow.
How The Diet Works
The cabbage soup diet works by following some strict rules for seven days about what you can and can't eat as well as how much you can eat. Below is a breakdown of the 7 days:
Each day consists of a minimum of 1 bowl of cabbage soup
Day 1
On the first day of the diet you can eat as much fruit as you like (excluding bananas) along with unlimted portions of the cabbage soup. You are also restricted on drinks and can only consume cranberry juice, water or unsweetened teas
Day 2
The second day allows you to eat as much raw or cooked vegetables as you like, again with unlimited amounts of cabbage soup. You are also allowed a baked potato, but must not eat fruit on this day
Day 3
Take away the baked potato you had on day two and you consume as much of both the fruits from day 1 and the vegetables from day 2. Don't forget the cabbage soup as well!
Day 4
Day 4 is a tough one, you can of course load up on the cabbage soup, but apart from that you are only aloud to eat bananas (maximum of 8) and as much skimmed milk as you like
Day 5
Six fresh tomoatoes and either beef or chicken is your selection on day 5. It is also advised that you drink alot of water (at least 6 glasses on this day) to aid in the removal of the Uric Acid that has accumulated in your body.
Day 6
A good day if you like beef as you can consume as much of the stuff as you like with your cabbage soup. You are also allowed an unlimited amounts of vegetables.
Day 7
The final day allocates brown rice to be eaten with vegetables along with of course....cabbage soup. You can also drink as much fresh fruit juice as you like
Don't Forget...
This diet is supposed to last for 7 days only after which you should transfered to a more balanced and sustainable diet to continue losing weight or maintaining a healthy weight
