Eat Stop Eat Diet is a form of intermittent fasting where you go for short periods (in this case 24 hours) without eating any food and then continue as normal. The basic theory behind it is that by fasting for 24 hours twice per week you reduce your overall calorie intake and as such lose weight.

The problems that may occurr with this diet is that you are starving yourself for 24 hours so will probably feel hungry alot of the time, certainly in the initial periods. This may mean that you cannot maintain the diet or you may start to feel down, depressed and lacking energy which will probably be the case if you are overweight and used to eating substantial amounts every day.

This diet can certainly work for the right person, and if that person is you then you will see some great results. If you really like your food and are looking for an effective way to lose weight without cravings or getting hungry then you should probably try a different type of diet to this one. Also if you have experienced or think you could be prone to develop any eating disorder than avoid this diet as you may be brainwashed to thinking that if I fast for more than 24 hours or more than twice per week I will lose even more when this will actually result in serious health complaints.

The great thing about this diet is that you do not need to change anything in your life or change the foods you eat dramatically so it is therefore an easy diet to start and simple to follow. How Does Eat Stop Eat Diet Work

To follow the Eat Stop Eat diet plan you need to follow some rules for any given week which are detailed below.

1. - Fast for 24 hours hours twice per week on non-consecutive days
2. - Do not go a full day without eating. So if you are fasting for 24 hours you must eat on each day. example: fast starts at 6pm on Wednesday and ends 6pm Thursday (so you would eat prior to fasting on the Wednesday and after the fasting on Thursday meaning you have eaten someting on both days, but still fasted for the 24 hours required)
3. - Eat normally (i.e. do not eat extra than you normally would) on you eating days and try to keep the foods healthy

It is recommended that you do exercise with this diet especially some resistance exercise to ensure you are not eating away at your muscles. This will at the same time help with your weight loss as you are using engergy to exercise.

An easy to follow diet and would be a good solution to anyone who is just slightly overweight and wants to lose a few pounds. You can come on and off the diet easy, and many have commented on an increase in energy when carrying out this diet plan.
