St Tropez Diet

The St Tropz Diet is a mediterranean style diet incorporating lots of fish, fruit, vegetables and oils containing the healthy omega 3 fats. A strong focus of this plan is to consume lots of food high in Vitamin A, such as carrots and pumpkin, which is claimed to increase fat burning when consumed in conjunction with omega 3 fats.

The plan focuses on really enjoying your food and the flavours and allows you to have a glass of wine with your meal to help you do this.

The main rules you have to follow on the diet are:

1. Eat more food containing the omega 3 fats (such as fish and nuts)
2. Eat foods high in vitamin A with your omega 3 fats to increase fat burning
3. Reduce intake of foods where omega 6 fats are high (such as fast food and cakes)
4. Eat lots of fruit and vegetables

How Does The St Tropez Diet Work

The St Tropz Diet is broken down into 4 phases to follow for a duration of 8 weeks:

Phase 1 - Introducing Good Fats and Fresh Ingredients
For the first week you will be on pahse one where the main emphasis is on you replacing unhealthy saturated fats with healthier omega 3 fats. You will consuming about 1600 calories per day for the first week

Phase 2 - Balancing Diet and Lifestyle
The second week is phase 2 of the diet and during this phase you approach will continnue in the same way as the the previous week, but with a lower overall caloire intake of around 1450 calories per day. You will also be encouraged to start an exercise regime in conjunction with your diet

Phase 3 - Reaching Your Ideal Weight
This is a 3 week period where your calorie intake will be reduced further to around 1300 calories per day and you are eoncouraged to also increase your activity levels. Calorie intake can vary slightly if you are doing alot of exercise

Phase 4 - Maintaining a Healthy Lifestyle
This 2 week phase will see you increase your omega 3 fats and learn to combine them sufficiently with vitamin A for optimun fat burning. Expect to be having around 1500 calories on per day during this phase.

After the 8 weeks you will then need to follow the principles set out in the plan so far and maintain a diet that is sufficient in calories to suit both your weightloss needs and lifestyle.

A typical day during during the weight loss part of the plan may consist of the following:

Breakfast - Museli with fresh fruit

Snack - Banana

Lunch - Tuna sald with celery and seeds

Snack - Handful of walnuts

Dinner - Salmon with sweet potato and vegetables

The St Tropez Diet allows you to keep variety in your diet without sacrificing your weightloss. You will lose weight following this diet, but will still be having lots of essential nutrients making it a healthy diet.
